Into a new decade we're starting fresh here, so in the depths of winter and digging deep to get to the studio I've turned up the torch gas and experimented with sculptural work, creating baubles and perfume bottles with many a mishap, through trial and error some are starting to survive so in the coming months  they'll be some new kids on the block so to speak. I've also some new glass beads lined up ready to post online since reviewing feedback many customers prefer to buy in stock, but don't forget I will still do commission beads from the 'archive pages'

You might have noticed there's not a great deal of new lampwork beads and beadsets coming online from Aura Art Glass, this is due to the stock build up for Christmas shows. With postal strikes it also isn't a good time on web sales for beads artists so for now I'm concentrating on my own lines of jewellery and experimenting on new products - something I love to do, frustrating but exciting too.

The bead blog has moved to 'lampwork beads' category 'news'. This will keep customers upto date on new beads coming up and what is in the pipeline. This blog is a more general blog of what i've been upto.

So it was a great day at the GBUK AGM & Beadfair in Northampton. There far more public than I expected and there was a good turnout of lampwork beaders, all showing fantastic quality individually made beads. I love to see what my colleagues are up to and rarely get the chance so it's great to have a look around and network. As it was so busy though I still didn't get much chance to browse the tables but the little I did see was inspiring! It was about 4: 45 before I got chance to visit Tuffnells and Poops stalls to choose some supplies for me to dabble with but I did get a bargain daylight magnifier lamp which has been so needed to make my jewellery. Oh, it will be such a relief not to get those googly tired eyes!

I'm starting to re-photograph stock and add new stock so they'll be a bit of a change with some of the categories over time. I hope it'll all make sense as I restock on lampwork bead sets these will firstly be listed in the new listings so apologies if it seems like I'm doubling up in some categories. It all takes time but I'll get there in the end. I took a lovely break the other day.. I like nothing more than to get out in the countryside and hubby said he'd seen a hillside of Rhodedendruns and thought of me while on his work travels so for a day out he took me on a 50 mile round trip to see them! Well, they were nice but my favourite moment was when I got to stroke some lovely cows ( well bullocks really ), and no I'm not swearing... guess where they lived .. on a farm called butterley farm. They were so beautiful and utterly butterley.

Well, are we having that promised heatwave or what!!! It is SO....oooo hot in the studio even with ventilation and fans etc, so hot I'm now having to work at night! so unlike me I hope you're all enjoying it. I'm kinda busy at the moment as work piled up while I had my poor Mum in hospital down South so there was a few weeks of disruption, but at least she's out of hospital and making a slow recovery now. I've also got Patching's Art Festival this week which is a first for me so I hope the weather stays nice and there's plenty of visitors.. it should be good.

I had a great weekend at the BCTF ( British Craft Trade Fair, Harrogate) and have been filled with new inspiration and news is that I've been accepted to exhibit next year! I can't wait! At the moment i'm waiting for news from other events for this year that I've applied for which will be announced shortly.

Hi

After all the celebrations and revellers have gone, the New Year starts with good intentions and promises of  regular & relentless bead updates (not as easy as it sounds... believe me) so hopefully in the next week we'll see some new beads posted onto the appropriate page. With Valentines Day next month I'm thinking of suitable designs to tempt you all and put some love back in the world. You might notice I've finally got round to adding some silver core beads - there's still some left in the camera that might sneak into view shortly.

You could say the New Year started with a bang in our home - by the 3rd of January not only had our washing machine burnt out & blown up  but also the silencer went on the car and the phone's lost its ring! It comes in three's they say and at least if we don't hear from you, you'll here us.I hope that's an end to our mischievious gremlins for now

There are a few things to iron out and most images along with new products will be uploaded as soon as possible. Now bear with me on this as it's Christmas approaching too quickly and Ive loads to do including present buying for the family & friends and sending a small gift to all members! My family call me 'Goldfish' due to my forgetful memory but I wish I was an Octopus at the moment.

October & November were amazing months with winning a Bursary award from Creative Leicstershire and selection for Best of East exhibition at Ferrers Gallery, Staunton Harold. The downside of the good was an unexpected stay in hospital. It took the wind out of my sails but I'm now fully recovered to fight the New Year. New Year is always a reflective time for me : to remember the personal happenings over the course of the year, the good & the bad, the achievements & failings and the lessons to learn & celebrations needed  to move forward another year so I'm going to celebrate & refllect over the coming month with embracing gusto.

At this time I'd like to say a 'Thank you' to all my customers and friends who make my creative endevours possible and wish everyone a very happy & healthy Christmas and New Year. Enjoy.
